::forever

I can feel it in my pocket. A glistening gold band with a beautiful diamond enclosed in a velvet box.
Forever can never be long enough for me to feel like I've had long enough with you
She’s standing next to me, her brilliant red hair laying in ringlets around her shoulders, her head on my shoulder, the sun setting in front of us.
Forget the world now, we won't let them see but there's one thing left to do
My knee sinks to the ground, the grass cushioning its landing.
“Jules,” I whisper, my voice barely audible, “Theres something I’ve been meaning to ask you,” she nods, clearly aware of the question I’m about to ask her.
Marry me today and every day?

next year

it’s kinda weird
to think
that you’ll be gone this time next
year,
off to college.
there will be a vacant space
at
our dinner table
but
I think I’ll miss you,
even though
sometimes,
you make me angry
you’re a great big brother
and i will miss your brown hair
and
brown eyes
and the way you
swaggily
walk.

What If?

What if everything came easy?
What if you didn’t have to stay up all hours of the night, working hard to get good grades?
What if you didn’t need to exercise to do well in sports?
What if you didn’t need to pull those nasty weeds in the garden for your flowers to flourish?
What if you didn’t need to work hard in your job to provide adequate food and clothing for our family?
What if those shutters didn’t need repainting, or the dinners didn’t need making, or the resume didn’t need writing or the music didn’t need buying?
I’ve been thinking, all these things we complain about, all these things we wish came easy, when you’ve scored that winning goal, or when you’ve pulled out all of the weeds in your garden, and it looks kept, when you’re able to provide for your family, when you get good grades, you appreciate them because you’ve worked for them.
Would you still appreciate them if you hadn’t worked for them?

.springbreak.

the week kicked off hanging out with the best & getting a glimmer hairstyle done on me. needless to say, i was quite enthralled when i looked pretty much like the girl who died from tracker jacker stings.

yesterday we went to the redsox game, and it was burning. by the end of the game i just wanted to sleep. tut tut.

and this was pasted on the back of the seat in front of us. lovelovelove.

heavenly ~ happy first day of spring break!

it’s days like today when i realize how beautiful life really is.
as i lay on the porch, my sandals cast beside me, the summerlike breeze blowing softly and gently caressing my surroundings with the scent of spring.
when the shafts of life that cascade from the heavenly heights make everything so much prettier. so much better. they make this filthy world full of sin, and dirtiness look beautiful, and perfect.
i wonder how much more wonderful heaven will be like on days like today. when i don’t see a flaw everywhere i look. heaven. such a simple word.
but with such depth, such splendor behind it, such majesty, and glory.
i think it’ll be beautiful.
imagine the sunshine there? the colors? the smells? i wonder if i’ll be able walk to the heavenly cafes with moses, and fall asleep on jesus’ shoulders. i wonder if i’ll be able to paint my nails with mary, and bake cookies with sara.
honestly? i can’t wait to get there.
don’t get me wrong; i love it here. but i think when god calls me up to live in that heavenly house i’ll be ready to experience it.
