What if everything came easy?
What if you didn’t have to stay up all hours of the
night, working hard to get good grades?
What if you
didn’t need to exercise to do well in sports?
What if you didn’t need to pull those nasty weeds in the garden for your flowers to flourish?
What if you didn’t need to work hard in your job to provide adequate food and clothing for our family?
What if those shutters didn’t need repainting, or the dinners didn’t need making, or the resume didn’t need writing or the music didn’t need buying?
I’ve been thinking, all these things we complain about, all these things we wish came easy, when you’ve scored that winning goal, or when you’ve pulled out all of the weeds in your garden, and it looks kept, when you’re able to provide for your family, when you get good grades, you appreciate them because you’ve worked for them.
Would you still appreciate them if you hadn’t worked for them?
